A few days after my youngest son’s birthday we had half a cake sitting around. Miracles are real, people.
Waste not want not though, so I was offering some cake to the kids after dinner. There were literally no takers and when I asked my oldest why he didn’t want it, he said it was “gross”.
“Okaaayyyyy why is it gross, did you try it?” I asked skeptically.
“Well, no.” he replies hesitantly.
“Son, don’t be prejudiced. Get over here and come try a bite of cake.” I sternly reprimanded him.
He was frustrated and a bit emotional he was being ‘punished’ but he somewhat gamely tried a piece.
